COME ON DOWN AND WEAR YOUR BLACK AND ORANGE AS THE MIDDLEBORO 10 NATIONAL TEAM PLAYS IN THE SECTIONAL FINALS AGAINST MANSFIELD. FIRST PITCH IS SUNDAY NIGHT AT 7:30 WITH THE WINNER ADVANCING TO THE STATE FINALS.
You may have heard the recent news of a 9-year old boy in Charlestown being hit in the chest causing his heart to stop. While these incidents are fortunately very rare, this is a good opportunity to remind everyone that we do have an automatic defibrillator (AED) in the concession stand, should such an event happen at our fields.
AEDs are designed to be very easy to use as they walk you through their use step by step. Part of our coach safety meeting each year includes an overview on the use of the AED. If you’re interested in learning more about using an AED, you can find various instructional videos online. AEDs are becoming common in many public buildings, so having some familiarity with them is a good idea.
While the AED is a great resource to have on hand, the first thing to do in an emergency is call 911 to get trained professionals on site as quickly as possible.
You are reminded that tobacco use of any kind is not allowed within 25' of any ball field, dugout, or fan seating/viewing area; anywhere between Community and Memorial Field, including the batting cages; or within 50' of the concession stand or pavilion/grill area.
Anyone smoking in the parking lots or other areas not explicitly prohibited above are asked to please clean-up after yourself and not leave cigarette butts on the ground.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated for the cleanliness of our fields and the health of our kids.
